Demand Al Jazeera in the USA. Open an American cable channel to Al Jazzera Live Coverage of the Egyptian Revolution. The revolution SHOULD be televised live by the people who are actually broadcasting "fair and balanced" news. There. In the street. And their English channel is refreshingly unaligned. US: Why u no carry Al Jazeera? And US military, why bomb their not embedded reporter's HQ's so often?

For one thing, Al Jazzera is more independent, investigative, unaligned, and in the street than any American news network, cable or broadcast.

The US military has bombed their headquarters in the war zone. Twice.

Maybe it's they aren't embedded and have important information to report on.

Like an unbiased viewpoint and endless interviews with international policy makers, historians, politicians, and intellectuals (i.e., non "pundits" and "talking heads with beauty pageant opinions, and bar stool chatter.)

Reminds me of something like what we used to call the "Fourth Estate."

According to the US Constitution, the First (and most important) to that document which outlines the strategy for a strong democracy and republic is "Freedom of the Press."

Because without a free press, the Founding Fathers felt there was no way for citizens to be informed so as to understand as an educated electorate.

Among the "checks and balances" the architects of the American strategy for an on-going robust freedom included as primary the requirement for a free press.

The free and uncensored press was named as "the Fourth Estate." The "Fourth Estate" is considered the final check and balance that speaks truth to power, affording the populace of a voice balancing against the Executive (The President and Presidential Cabinet), the Congressional (the House and the Senate), and the Judiciary (the Supreme Court).

These three branches of government are extremely powerful:

Executive Branch: Headed by the president. The president carries out federal laws and recommends new ones, directs national defense and foreign policy, and performs ceremonial duties. Powers include directing government, commanding the Armed Forces, dealing with international powers, acting as chief law enforcement officer, and vetoing laws.

Legislative Branch: Headed by Congress, which includes the House of Representatives and the Senate. The main task of these two bodies is to make the laws. Its powers include passing laws, originating spending bills (House), impeaching officials (Senate), and approving treaties (Senate).

And the third powerful branch is the Judicial Branch: Headed by the Supreme Court. Its powers include interpreting the Constitution, reviewing laws, and deciding cases involving states' rights.

We need to revive our "Zombie Fourth Estate." Nao.

To assure a government "Of the people, for the people, and by the people" as mandated by the Constitution, the people require news and information from sources that are as wide...truthful...investigative...and non-partisan in reportage as possible.

Al Jazeera has proved time and again that it's reportage is courageous in it's pursuit of fair and balanced point of view.

Al Jazeera's fact checking is extensive, and impressive to this writer.

My work as a partner in a global information security firm, has found me called upon by the US, EU, and Canada to legally attest to security architectures at many "military and governmental alphabet agencies" (FBI, NSA, SEC, DoJ, DoD, EPA, SPACECOM under NORAD at CMOC, NEB/CND) and other security apparatus.

As s subject-matter expert in Information Security, I have headed infosec architecture projects involving the NYSE, NASDAQ, the Federal Reserve, international fiduciary and energy trading floors, and integrating EU and North American privacy and security policies.

I have lectured in Washington DC (Homeland Security track/Defense in Depth and SCADA), at the Stanford Research Center (Geocoding as identification of State actors), and at DefCon XI (alternative international communications strategies and networks during demonstrations or revolutions, real-time elint filtering, and extrapolating identification and defense of terrorist targets).

And then there was the job that was the oxymoron title: Chief of Security, Napster (Bertlesmann.)

This has given me a point of view that finds the synergy betwix information, politics, governmental and state "digital curtain" blackouts during revolution, and DMCA crackdowns haver given me an interesting viewpoint regarding the importance of free information and the US Constitution's emphasis of Freedom of Speech and the check-to-balance of a robust "Fourth Estate" one of the most important political tools for the citizenry of all countries presently in our times.

The ability of citizen-to-citizen communication in totalitarian regimes is arguably now the most accurate measure of the pulse on the street of the true suppressed voices of the people, in all their varied and free opinion.

We have a moral responsibility to cover the story the populace is oft willing to die for from every international angle we have the new technological ability to inform the international community.

Information from every report behind the lines of revolution should be shouted to the superpowers, the "empires", the uninformed nations, and any nation and people yearning to escape totalitarianism, or secretive annihilation politics.

The people of any country who live lives of desperation, under the boot, oppressed anywhere, can now -- via technology -- have a voice. And that voice from the streets demands a President derived from a popular vote, and an end to the puppets of super-powerful nations working their politics in the dark forever many centuries.

Al Jazeera is a voice unique, courageous, independent, inquiring, observing un-embedded in any country's military propaganda office. Reportage that is intelligent, fearless, and fair.

Al Jazeera's straight un-biased signal pollinates millions of satellite dishes the world over, like an global orchard of sunflowers turning their petals to follow and absorb the light of truth.

In this day, at this time, Al Jazeera is right pumping out brilliant energy and shines with a knowledge that enriches all people, for all people, and by all people.

As an Internet Architect by trade, I ask you to consider that with every IP packet America drops, we drop behind...to the world.

Open the world. Open the mind. Open the possibilities. Open America. Open it here. Open it now.

With open arms welcome Al Jazeera English channel to the American cable cabal.
