I can't listen to any of these right now, but it looks similar to the Speech Accent Archive, which is fascinating.

I just went to the British Library this weekend to see their Evolving English exhibit and at the end of the gallery they had some "telephone booths" set up for you to submit your own recordings. I recited the Mr. Tickle story as well as tell a story of how my friend and I have started using "obv" (pronounced ob-vee) in conversation as a shorthand for "obviously".
The exhibit itself was pretty cool, very crowded on a gloomy Saturday tough.

Lots of the dots dont seem to match up...I clicked on Melbourne and got a voice from Ruislip, England. Other than that though...its cool!!

Given that I lived 1/3 of life in Newfoundland, 8 years in Nashville and the remainder in the upper, upper America midwest, and that I had a cleft palate as a kid, somehow I don't think they want my speech as a representative of where I live.
