The source of the photos is the same, but the essay & explanatory notes on the photos pulls things together with more context. Plus, the photos are so great they should be posted at least once every year.

Well, back in those days basically everybody in Australia was a criminal of course. Instead of the usual English surnames like 'Baker' & 'Smith', It'd be all "Hey, I bumped into Fred today, you remember Fred Pimp...?"
"Oh, the guy who's seeing Betty Whore?"
"No, Betty was killed by John - damn, what was his name again? Betty used to see so many Johns it's hard to remember which was which...John Rapist-Strangler. Fred's now going out with a new lass called Lizzy Bigamist & seems very keen on her; could be marriage"
"Well, good for him. It's about time he settled down"
