I love little noise generators like that. It's neat, but pretty darn limited. Unless I am missing something.
I have a few of those kinds of apps for the iPhone. Most notably the Brian Eno ones.
I am surprised their site haven't been shut down with all the mp3s they are hosting.
On preview, is everything on that site stolen or is it properly licensed?

check out http://monome.org/
they have really expensive physical versions of this, as well as kits for a smaller 8x8 grid. they are a nice open-source community that has been around for a few years now.
