Qaddafi's youngest son Khamis was reported killed in a suicide bomb attack on Mar. 21. Previous to that he was apparently working in the US as an intern at a company called AECOM. Now some media are reporting that Khamis has been seen in Libya, days after his supposed death. An outlying mystery is how & when Khamis returned to Libya. I believe the answer is this mystery flight (listen to audio here), originally reported by Twitter user @FMCNL. If true this is a very deep rabbit hole indeed.

This post was deleted for the following reason: this isn't really the place to break news with dubious facts backing it. I get that you're excited but this is really not the way to do this. Make a post when there is some there there, otherwise yes, your own blog is fine for this. -- jessamyn

Why is it a deep rabbit hole? It is interesting but it doesn't seem particularly convoluted or conspiratorial. A mistaken reporting of someone's death happens all the time in the chaos of war, for example. And there are a large number of gulfstream's operated by foreign companies; if anything it would be surprising if the Libyan's didn't have access to one.

I used a plural apostrophe! Kill me.

It occurs to me, though, that you might be referring to the plane being registered to Wells Fargo. As the article notes that doesn't have much to do with who is operating the aircraft.

While in the Big Apple, Khamis even took in the Broadway show "Mamma Mia."

Yes, yes, it all makes sense now. Mamma Mia is a Broadway show that was turned into a movie. This movie starred Amanda Seyfried who was also in Mean Girls starring Lizzy Caplan, who starred in a little movie called Cloverfield. This starred a monster who destroyed Manhattan and produced by JJ Abrams who also produced Lost about a plane mysteriously landing on an island that was hard to get to, until of course the very end when people started landing like it was ain't no thang.

This plane also got "clearance" from a number station in Malta to land in Tripoli and it only had a short time frame to do so. And now Khamis, who people believed dead, is showing up in "Libya." Jack's dad showed up on the Lost island and he was also, supposedly, dead. Coincidence? I think not! We're through the looking glass people!

The misreported death isn't particularly conspiratorial, just following the bouncing ball of his story. That one of the guys apparently now leading the fight on his father's behalf got out of the US on a US corporation-owned flight hours before the UN vote is at least newsworthy, I think. Mostly I'm just tickled at having solved the mystery flight & wanted to tie it all into a narrative.

If your conspiracy hinges on a NewsMax article and a twitter feed, I suspect your rabbit hole may be slightly shallower that you expect.

The Newsmax piece is just about the Audioboo recording which you can listen to yourself if you doubt it's real.

I don't think anyone doubts something like this could have happened, we simply don't think it is all that rabbit holey.

@FMCNL was profiled in Wired here.

That's what your blog is for. You have no actual evidence that he was on that plane.

This reads like something that should go on your personal blog.

The news that Wells Fargo operates a fleet (of thousands!) of aircraft for leasing to shady, unidentified third parties who want the convenience of using a USA-registered plane is sorta rabbit-holish. Or assholish.

Khamis was sent to assassinate a rebel leader, but when he saw the rebel's kid, he couldn't do it. Rebel guards then chased him, shot him a bunch of times but couldn't find him, so assumed he was dead. Now he's running around Libya with amnesia, disarming the people who are chasing him using improvised weapons and leaving them unconscious but alive.

Your personalizing this ("I believe the answer is ..... ") is kind of editorial-ey.

The NewsMax article is interesting whether Khamis was on the flight or not.

(For those not in the know, NewsMax makes Fox News, The National Enquirer, and the Weekly World News seem like credible and unbiased news sources)
