Comiques is a comic about "life's little trivialities" by Anne Emond. Her main subjects are her family, cat, friends, New York City and random musings. It is mostly drawn from life though her work sometimes tends towards the fantastic. Here is a short video interview with her which also features some candid shots of her cat and here's a longer interview on more technical matters. Finally, here are some random favorites: Pug, Celebrity Look-alike Generator, Irrational Rage Comic, Umbrella, Writing a Detective Story?, The Best Karamazov, Ode to the Avocado, Top of the Morning to You and The Day I Realized I've Never Tried to Dress My Cat in People Clothes.
Wow, she's great! Also this one makes me yet again wonder why there do not exist any combination bar-and-laundromats.

Actually, griphus, Checkpoint Charlie's in Nola would have you covered. At least, it would have when I lived there years and years ago.

Wow. I just moved to NYC, and she captures almost every single experience I've had in the past two weeks. Seriously, it's actually kinda creepy we both spent Memorial Day hungover in a tent. The Greenpoint chicken slaughter and laundromat things, too. Weird.

I meant to add that I like these; they're like New Yorker cartoons, but less smug.

I started out, as I do, comparing her to other female webcartoonists--Kate Beaton, Lucy Knisley--but she got me with "Depression at the Laundromat." Just about everyone at every laundromat that I've ever used does look like they're withdrawing from Wellbutrin and on the verge of saying fuck it and going back on.

I'm a serial mystery reader, and I recognized every one of the "writing a detective story" characters.

Madison and/or Milwaukee had one back in the 80s, as I recall.

There was a bar/laundromat in Champaign, Illinois in the early nineties called either Suds and Duds or Duds and Suds; it was convenient to my first apartment there, but the beer selection was nothing special.

I like her recurring, extremely fat cat.
