Mistakes in scientific studies surge. "Retractions related to fraud showed a more than sevenfold increase between 2004 and 2009, exceeding the twofold rise in retractions related to mere error, according to an analysis published in the Journal of Medical Ethics."

Huh, I got to it straight from Google. If you're interested you can google the linktext, which is the study title. I'll ask the mods to delete, unless someone knows the secret to non-paywalled WSJ content.
