How to Measure a Storm's Fury One Breakfast at a Time

FEMA has a new metric to gauge the amount of destruction a natural disaster leaves in its wake: the percentage of its menu the local Waffle House is serving (aka "The Waffle House Index").

Double

I propose a new metric to gauge the attentiveness of the MeFi mods: how long a Waffle House Index double post stays on the front page.

I have never been to a Waffle House, but I made pigs in blankets on Labor Day and they were delicious.

I guess IHOP or Denny's are unattractive for this? Waffle House food is nasty...

American or UK style (i.e. wrapped in some kind of bread or wrapped in bacon)?

I went to a waffle house once and it was pretty awful. There were no recent storms to blame either. I think space aliens made the "scrambled eggs".

Not sure if this should be flagged, or if we should let it stay.
I guess I'm waffling on the issue.

I have no idea what you're talking about. Wrapped in blankets. Thick, woolen blankets. Then covered in maple syrup. How they squealed!

I once did both -- wrapped in bacon and then bread, only the bread was pillsbury croissants. It was a pretty heart-unfriendly, totally delicious thing I will probably never do again.

I gauge the reliability of Metafilter on the number of Waffle House dupes produced per day.

As the nearest Waffle House to me is 290 miles away in a different state, I'm hoping like hell that we don't have any significant natural disasters here in Wisconsin, because I'd hate to not realize that the apocalyptic end times were upon us for lack of a good waffle.
