It's a ring-tone! It's place-based community art! Well, you don't have to choose any more. In Locally Toned, artist T. Foley sources sound in the wild to create hundreds of unique ringtones.
Oh now that's just cool.

My Panasonic phone has only the normal ringtones. And I can't send texts with it. Oh well.

Are any of these not grating? I listened to three and found them all totally annoying. I wouldn't mind some that weren't an assault on the senses, but digging through clamor isn't something I am willing to do.

The Kennywood Merry Go Round and Juma's Roar ones are neat and not grating.

There are some thumb piano, glockenspiel and organ ones in there that I like.
(Maybe the pinball ones too, though ymmv w/r/t clamor/grate/whatnot.)

I also like the Museum Insel Accordion and the Glockenspiel (mainly because glockenspiel is fun to say).

Also, you can submit one, so if you can think of some that aren't grating, maybe you could get them included.

Speaking strictly as a person with ears, I approve of this.
