Lend it Forward

Not usually a fan of NYTimesfilter posts, but this idea - and its proponent - caught my interest. It seems Starbucks is planning on entering the American micro-lending business. Will this serve as a kick in the pants to the economy, or is Schultz simply throwing peanuts at a problem in the hopes of selling more coffee. (Or both, duh).

Brother can you spare a dime for a cup of coffee?

No, but I'd be happy to loan you the dime. And it will only cost you a quarter.
