This is a great concept for a blog that I'd gladly write myself but not actually ever read.

Thanks for the link, flex.

I think, in a weird way, it does. Essentially, it feels like letting someone else do your surfing for you, then filing you a report to take a look at when you find the time. The challenge is finding someone who shares your taste in stuff.

Yes, because lord knows that the large aggregator sites are all that we need these days to surface the good stuff; and small sites and individuals sharing their streams only interfere with the magnificence of the groupthinkery.

Isn't this, to some extent, kind of the point of MetaFilter?
Put another way:

This is weird.
1. There's only five items on your lists - you really can't use a template that allows all five items to be read without going into individual post pages?
2. This is not 'things I learned today,' this is 'cool things I looked at/watched on the Internet today,' which is not bad of itself, but is a really weird bait-and-switch framing that simultaneously turns off people attracted by the title and doesn't attract people who would like the content.

I don't think I could even find the willpower to craft blog posts about 1 random thing I looked at every day, let alone 5 things. I guess this person should be commended on putting the extra effort on making his/her own super-snowflake Twitter feed?
