I asked him what he was doing next, and he said he was directing a video for a fourteen-year-old girl. I asked whether I could come out and see him, and he hesitated--he was, he said, a changed man, and he didn't want to be judged as a pornographer anymore. The Devil in Greg Dark, in which a filmmaker turns away from distorting human sexuality through awful 1980s porn, in favor of distorting human sexuality through awful teen pop music videos.

FYI, this is a story from 2001. That 14-year-old girl in the story, Leslie Carter, died a few days ago.

While the single, Like Wow, was released, the album was never released.
