Just want to jump in on the ground floor here before anyone gets too mad: those of us in Seattle know Ms. West from her work at The Stranger, and as her recent online writing has borne out, she is entirely insufferable on any subject she cares to take on; it's kind of her thing, and her persona is tailor-made for online rock-stardom in the Gawker universe of outrageous link-bait. It's all tied up with the deliberately obtuse people who conflate "freedom of speech" with "immunity from criticism." You "can" say the n-word. Go ahead and say it if you want, Skrillex.
