Adam Nathaniel Yauch, also known as MCA and Nathanial Hornblower, founding member of the iconic hip-hop group The Beastie Boys, has lost a long battle with cancer. He was 47.

Recently inducted in the Rock and Rock Hall of Fame, the Beastie Boys were one of the longest running hip-hop groups in history. Formed in 1979, they released 8 records, the most recent just last year. They are best known for songs like Fight for your Right, Make Some Noise, Intergalactic, and Sabotage.

Yauch was diagnosed with cancer in 2007.

globalgrind's breaking article has loads of pictures of Yauch living his life to the fullest. It's slow loading right now, but very worthwhile.
