Trying to drink wine while Hula-Hooping

Hula-Hoop comedy show Annabel Carberry performs "A Glass of Red". This is a hilarious hula-hoop/dance routine about frustration, hula-hoop talent, keping your skirt down and control of a roudy audience.
Mod note: Switched link to direct youtube link rather than sort of skeezy looking aggregator site.

You know it's going to impressive with the performer's leg muscles look that powerful.

That was a very supportive audience.
And I could almost believe the errors were intentional, to make it more Chaplin-esque.

Great find! I'm pretty sure I was in the audience for this recording; it looks like the show she did at the European Juggling Convention in Munich last year. It's a fantastic act, and there aren't many people who can work comedy into a hoop routine with most people I've seen treating it more as a form of dance. Which is still great, but a bit of variety, in both senses, is always fun.
I also suggest checking out Hoop La La for a really fun take on hoop acts. The guy in particular is a great performer and can *really* capture a crowd. They popped up once or twice in The Brickhouse in London, and the audience absolutely loved them. Sadly for circus fans though, about two years ago the Brickhouse's focus slid from circus, music and raunchy jokes to being almost all (burlesque-style) stripping with a rare music or circus act thrown in as a sop to respectability.

Now that's a fucking act. She's not the best hula-hoopist(?) I've seen, but her charisma, wordless even, makes that a plus.

I enjoyed it, and even LOLed, as the kids say. I think the minor flubs made it better and it wouldn't surprise me at all to know they were part of the plan, sort of.

Her charisma really helped the act.
Not to mention her outfit.

Not a great showing for MetaFilter when the piece is pretty legible as a feminist allegory yet half the comments are about the attractiveness of the performer.

I was waiting for that. Where are you in all the threads where women and gay men opine about the attractiveness of male performers, which is at least as common?

I really envy her talent. I'd love to be able to get a bottle of wine open with my bare hands.

If you have some time on your hands, have a look at some of the other videos by the same guy - this one is only the tiniest fraction of the cool stuff that went on at EJC Munich.
