Yekaterina Samutsevich, one of three women comprising the Russian punk band Pussy Riot, has been released from jail following an appeal. The Moscow court has however upheld the two year prison sentence for the other two women, Maria Alyokhina and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, on counts of "hooliganism motivated by religious hatred."

On the other hand, "hooliganism motivated by religion" is OK. Just take the "hatred" part out. No, wait...

The Russians have an odd view of European history and their part in it both past and present. Russia was never part of Europe and the way things are going, it appears she never could be.
