That's really gross. Surely it's not good for the hippos to be walking around in that water? Shouldn't they have some kind of filtration system that's constantly straining out hippoo and cycling in fresh water?

At first I was grossed out at the hippoos for sullying up the fresh clean pool before they even got it filled completely...c'mon, give it a minute, at least let it get above your knees!

But then I was even more grossed out that the researchers got in the hippoo water before it even finished draining....c'mon, give it a minute, at least let it get below your knees!

Yes! Unfortunately management got cowed by the pearl-clutchers suggesting that "Shitty Shitty Hippos" wouldn't fly on TV ads during kids TV. Plus there were those kids who lost an eye or two to the occasional errant marble during product testing. Pussies.

I know it's just the hippos, but there are some quick flashes in the time lapse (like around 0:17, bottom right) that remind me of the subliminal ones of Tyler Durden in Fight Club.
