Sometimes I Forget You're A Robot

Beep Beep Beep Beep...
In the wake of Allie Brosh's fpp about her book, I thought I'd post one about the children's book by Sam Brown of Exploding Dog (linked several times before). As a regular reader of Sam's work, I was excited when I saw it posted, and immediately bought a copy. It's gotten mixed though generally positive reviews, but those familiar with his work will know exactly what to expect, and won't be disappointed. It's a poignant story with equally poignant artwork, and a go-to read at bedtime in the CyclotronBoy house.
My son is 9 months and loves it, but mostly the sounds and colors for now. I suspect in a few years he'll love the story as well. It's interesting - I would generally call all of his work is kid-friendly, more or less, and this is as well. His book is a children's book, no doubt, but it still has that difficult-to-describe, introspective, wonder-seeking, slightly lonely quality that seems to suffuse all of his work. It's a great story about friendship. Well worth a look. first fpp, be gentle

This post was deleted for the following reason: Hey, glad your digging it but with this kind of personal "here are my thoughts" presentation this reads way more like a personal blog post than a post for the front page of Metafilter. -- cortex
