Tuesday evening Cecilia Abadie was given a ticket for driving while wearing her Google Glasses.

This post was deleted for the following reason: It's a bit of the-future-is-now weirdness, I'll give you that, but as constructed this post is just someone's g+ account and a really short blurb about the ticketing. -- cortex

One would hope that Google just assigned some programmer to make a "driving mode" with a timer on it, so you could prove to the police that you've only been displaying GPS information, a map, or information about the car itself for X number of minutes.

Seems pretty legit to me.

Yeah. Of course. Should that surprise anyone?

As someone who rides a bicycle, I am grateful for this law. I am particularly fond of not getting squooshed.

I don't think anything should be displayed in front of your face while driving. Yes I have tried on Google Glasses. The screen is right in your face. No way one should wear them while driving.

We can't train people to keep their cell phones in their pocket while driving. Google Glass should be right out.

Seems totally reasonable. I'd just like to know whether California police are diligently ticketing everybody who ever has their iPhone sitting on the passenger seat or in the cupholder, too.
