Was that REALLY a spoiler?

It's not just the "Yakkity Sax" that makes it funny. It's how the video is sped up and how you occasionally reverse the action for a moment, accompanied by a slide whistle sound effect.

Yeah, no, I don't think this is funny. Speeding up the video, adjusting the speed and doing back and forth loops to the time of the music- THAT could be funny. As it is, it's still incredibly brutal but without any wit to transform it, and it's the editing that contains the wit, not simply layering an "instant funny!" song over it.

For example, a guy gets shanked and falls to the ground. To make that funny, you'd edit it so he hits the ground at the end of a phrase that comes just before a series of short phrases or up-and-down bits (I know nothing of musical theory, as anybody who's heard my efforts with a DAW will tell you), and then have him bounce up and fall back down again, forward-back-forward-back, in rapid succession in sync with the music.

But that would take wit, and effort.

I assume you're referring to tribute.avi, angrycat?

The 9/11 Yackety Sax is funny because you don't actually see anyone die; you can imagine an alternate universe where the towers were empty and oh geez someone pressed the detonate button too early!

You can't do that when you see a pregnant woman get shived in the stomach.

On preview: what angrycat said.
