And we are a hell of a lot more diverse than you might think.

If you're going to be so very precious about how diverse you are, putting a series of increasingly pasty white people (and one Latino dude) on your site seems a bit silly.
And at this point in time
-When every major movie is a comic book or scifi movie
-Where Doctor Who is very popular
-Where tabletop games are sweeping the nation
Trying to play off some mostly dated comic book stereotype seems silly.
Get off the cross, we need the wood.

...says a guy who has never been harassed/threatened online just for being a woman who likes comics and wants to express her opinion about them.

I kind of wish this link had been held back a few more days -- Rachel just started this Tumblr last night, far as I can tell. If it catches on, it will likely be less uniform in the voices presented in a week or two.
On a similar note, the impulse behind this project is, in part, "Not everyone who likes superhero comics is an asshole exclusionary straight white dude." However, "comics" as a community is obviously much larger than just superhero titles, and I suspect that the diversity of content as well as creators and fans will be clearer if this Tumblr has a little while longer to find its voice.

None of those things are comic books. So, since:

None of those things are comic books. So, since:
- Many Americans suffer from peristaltic discomfort
- Breton as a language remains at risk of extinction
- Hank Aaron's record for the most seasons as an all-star remains unbroken

(Note, also, that this Tumblr is a direct reaction to specific dustups and controversies in the superhero comics community, in particular the ongoing harassment of comics journalist Janelle Asselin.)

Speaking out for important issues isn't some zero-sum game, and passive-aggressive strategies of "oh, other issues are important, plus this isn't such a big deal" is just a way of wrapping complacency and apathy into the weakest semblance of an argument.
I commend the posts on Tumblr for being self-aware, for standing in solidarity with Asselin, and for spreading the word.

Agreed. If you want to make an FPP about Janelle Asselin—which it seems the OP does—then do that. This is a day-old Tumblr whose content, at least so far, falls conspicuously short of its promise.

Who accused Tumblr of not being diverse?
You can find everything there.

If you want to see more diversity, I can point out a truly motley group of webcomic artists...
I must once again note that documentary Stripped shows the diversity of comic strip artists of the under-age-45-variety.
