These boots were made for... you know the rest.

"Work trips for me mean running all over a city in one night or festivals in unpredictable weather. You can save your macrame dress and flower crown festival fashion. Give me a denim shirt, jeans, and a pair of any of the boots above, and I’ll be fine for 24 hours (well, feed me, too)." 17 Pairs of Chelsea Boots That Are Actually Practical by Alyssa DeHayes, Paste Magazine.

This post was deleted for the following reason: This was slow to pick up flags but is a pretty thin post. Maybe more of a roundup on future fashion posts to put things in context and offer more background than just a gallery? -- mathowie

Are those kinds of boots typically not practical? I have owned a couple pairs of this form and they're incredible comfortable if you get the fit right.

My feet spontaneously blistered at the sight of those Doc Martens.

I naturally liked the look of the Frye's best. Because expensive! Sigh.

Wow, those Timberland Earthkeepers are fantastic! Moving to Montana has given me a whole new appreciation for boots and I suspect my modest collection may need to grow just a bit more this winter. I don't think I've ever seen a Chelsea boot I liked a lot before, at least for women - usually the casualness of the elastic bit seems to clash with the formality of the boots, but that pair gets the balance just right. The Fryes are all beautiful too, as always, but I don't even dare look directly at them lest I find myself ruined for all other boots.

I think the title is a bit misleading: I think you're supposed to read it as, "here are some nice X type of boots - and they're actually quite practical!" if you get my meaning. If you don't, nothing I can do about it! :D plus I thought the owner was ultra-right wing but that's quite off topic and I'd rather bury my head in the sand

(ooo something strange happened, <> will cut out your text. Here's what was cut: Urban Outfitters have some Chelsea boots, as do The Gap (I think they're around $90 so I nixed trying them on, as I had already bought a pair of burgundy cheapies from Target). I feel a bit odd walking into Urban Oufitters now as a 46 year old, but I could always pretend I'm shopping for my (fictional) daughter, or something. plus I thought the owner was ultra-right wing but that's quite off topic and I'd rather bury my head in the sand)

There's practically no content in here — the paragraph seems to stay the same. This is just someone's perusal shopping list, and seems like too thin of a post.

This is helpful for someone looking for shoes ideas. It's not easy to find something that meets all of ones requirements. I've been wearing Uggs every day since September as they're the only shoes that keep my feet warm n comfy without crushing my toe-box or opening up friction holes in my skin. Womens shoes are horrific.

My Blundstones are fantastic - until the boots are more than 5 years old. Then the sole starts to disintegrate. Literally. I had a pair where the tops were still in wonderful shape - but when I put them on last Fall, the heel fell out in large clumps.

Turns out that this is a known issue.

I love Doc Martens; I'll have to look at that style of boot for my next pair.

Then use AskMe. As it stands, this is 17 images of shoes that the author liked. That's it. There's no info about the specific shoes except manufacturer and price. This is a bad post and I'm surprised to see it still standing.

I love a chelsea boot! I love the gender-neutral style. I'm a dude and rock these all the time now.

My only issue is that the pull tab on the back makes my preferred pant length sometimes a pain — the leg can get caught on the tab and hike up in an unflattering way. Pants need to be long enough to never ride up like that or short enough to avoid the top of the boot altogether.

Otherwise: woot chelsea boots!

They're so worth it, though... I have a pair of these in brown and I plan to be buried in them. They are the most comfortable footwear I have ever owned.
