Very dated and written from a western history perspecive. Interesting concept that could benefit from modern scholarship looking at economic history.

What I enjoy most is how this historical text is mostly valuable as a piece of history, itself.

Like all history written before the mid 80s it is not to be trusted for anything prior to the Roman Empire. Whoever made it didn't even know one of the major powers of the bronze age near east (Mari) existed.
