CNN SAYS PEARL IS DEAD Judy Woodruff is reporting: "CNN has learned from sources that WSJ reporter Danny Pearl is dead." The network says U.S. officials have seen a videotape that confirms the death.

I would submit this is not news. Moral of the story: if you are (1) American journalist (2) working for pro-business publication with (3) Jewish-sounding family name, go to Pakistan at your own risk.

I would venture wearing a big puffy gay trainers jacket anywhere in the middle east is inadvisable. Remember the start of Lawrence of Arabia?? These people don't fuck around.
Really is a pity that a member of the press had to go though. I don't think many of us can claim to put that much effort into our work.
