My very libertarian Father-in-law is a wellspring of this kind of thing, including the whole light bulb obsession mentioned in the article. I remember going to visit him one year and his going out to get some groceries one afternoon. When he returned to the house, he made a big show of the half dozen boxes of incandescent light bulbs he purchased. Better get 'em now, he warned us, before the government takes them away.
