Now, whenever Polly has an anxiety attack, Lauricella puts her into the duck costume, and voila — instant calm.

The Goats of Anarchy website is coming soon, but they seem to have an active instagram presence.

"Oh... I am a duck now. This is nice. Calming." Sort of the opposite of Allie Brosh.

I can't imagine what people thought when she pushed her shopping cart by with a tiny goat in a duck costume.

I think that at this moment in history a lot of us need a duck suit and/or piggyback goat.

Cats in shark costumes, goats in duck costumes, dogs in panda costumes...

It's a funny old world.

My first thought was "What happens when the goat gets bigger?" But she had a solution for that. Let's hope Polly and Pocket become lifelong friends.

There is not enough "awww" in the universe for this.

Oh lord, just don't go too far into the Instagram account if you want to keep your warm fuzzies. Also, I got really confused when I clicked back and the comments made NO SENSE:
All Hail the Yule Goat!!!
Yes! All we need now is for the phrase "1976 Local raggare ran the goat over with a car" to be resurrected!
I, on the other hand, have hope and faith, and am willing the goat to last longer than President-elect thingie.

Eh, wat?? Nooo... I landed on this thread instead. Ooops. Goat confusion.

I keep reading this as "duck confit comforts goat" and honestly I'm not sure which would be weirder. Outfit is definitely cuter, though.

I scrolled for what felt like blissful hours and all I got was goats living their best lives — bow-legged, no-legged, blind and anxious goats getting the best possible care and attention, sometimes in costume — and followed.

It would have made my whole year if I'd been shopping and she walked by with her little duck goat.

Oh, my heart melted. This is the best of the web. This is why the internet was invented.

My soul needed this today, and is now momentarily replete. I need no more in the world than this tiny anxious goat being soothed by her duck costume.

This is definitely what we need right now.
But, I mean. Can someone please calm me of my worries? Because sometimes humans see what they want to see, like all the people who bathe their bunnies because "it makes them so calm" when in fact the bunny is lying very still due to fear-induced catatonia/tonnic immobility. Can someone pls convince me that this isn't what's happening to this goat?

I had similar concerns and upon some light fretting decided it's probably fine. I think goats are pretty clothing tolerant, and probably appreciate the extra heat on a cold day.

Also, I mean, it's a kids costume.

We dressed our goats in costumes (Sara-saurus and Princess Pepper ) and they seemed to like it. I think it's very likely this little goat feels warm and secure, like it is wrapped in a giant hug.

Sure. Neither you nor I know shit about goat psychology, and these professionals clearly regard it as helping. Better?

These baby goats in pajamas do not seem immobilized by fear. And, as cmoj points out, a woman who runs a goat rescue likely has a pretty good sense of what actually helps vs. what just superficially appears to help.
