Its Hunger Games out there

As we prepare to enter the Trump Era, I find my facebook page dominated by people that this could have happened to America. Honestly, I don't really get it much myself. However David Wong (aka Jason Pargin) of Cracked.com has a perspective and way of explaining the situation that, as a progressive, i find very relatable. Three pieces in particular (one article and 2 podcasts) piece together a compelling vision of a middle America left behind by the past 20 years, and why they just don’t give a crap what the MSM has to say about their man.
I suggest you check them out in this order:
How Half of America Lost its F*cking mind. The original article posted to Cracked.com. It's been posted before, but give it another read to refresh your memory.
Trump Country
Follow-up podcast in which David and panel discuss the article in more detail
What the f*ck just happened? Election Autopsy.
Reaction and further commentary in the days just after the election.

This post was deleted for the following reason: We have a couple of threads already in progress on Trump / inauguration, so go ahead and add these here or here (also, just for future reference, the standard for front page posts is not to include OP editorial remarks, personal thoughts, etc.) -- taz
