i really try not to hate on pop music. but this song is really, really bad. i sort of like the chorus but the verses and (especially) the "old taylor" bridge are abysmal.

i feel like this was a miscalculation. the world is falling apart around us. do we really need our biggest pop star writing angry screeds about those who supposedly wronged her (i'm still fully team Kanye on that particular issue, fwiw).

despite all of that i look forward to hearing this song a hundred thousand times before the year ends.

The part of me that loves a Plath reference appreciates this nod to Lady Lazarus and the other part of me is like "pffft, oh please, you have not earned that comparison."
