Democracyin is hard work

We’ve forgotten how to do it! Have we been so thoroughly marketed to in pursuit of our vote that we have become exhausted by democracy? Is there no place left for a real life for those who care about our polity?

We must seek out activities that will involve us in cooperative endeavours with others who, for all we know, have opposing political views from our own.

That's a very easy thing for this (probably cishet) white tenured chair of the philosophy department at a university in Tennessee to say. He has no problem with his fellow white men believing that he is a person deserving of basic human rights. The problem though with his little theory is that the core political views of one side is that everyone deserves to be treated well and given a chance to thrive by the state, and the core political view of the other side is that rich cishet white men are the only people who are important.
