"The Body Politic was conceived in a basement (not the last it would know), born in an Annex apartment, named in a downtown Victorian flat (possibly; accounts vary), and raised for a time in a backyard shed." Published from 1971 until 1987, it was "Canada's first significant gay publication." Now, every issue of the magazine is hosted by the Canadian Human Rights Museum in an online collection.
