What George says to me is: People who aren't trained correctly get jobs.
A recent example in my life: I recommended <product> to someone. This someone proceeded to get <product>, convince a company to switch the <service provider> they used to accept <product>'s files, and then asked me how to do <basic task> with <product>.
Poor suckers could have hired me to do it in <other product> without the hassle of changing <service provider> and at the same time getting someone who actually knows how to use <product> and <other product>.
