Training for Diesel Railcar drivers

Congratulations on your new position as a diesel railcar driver (Diesel Railcar Simulator)! Before you begin, you should view the following training films provided by British Rail for your edification...
Introduction to the Diesel Train
Driving the Train
Dealing with Faults
Operating Requirements
While it is not required for your position, you may also find it useful to consider the history of how we have moved from coal to the wonderful world of diesel. A quick check of the encyclopedia for general definitions, as well as terms specific to British Rail, will also prove profitable to you. You may also want to review the instructional film on Signalling.
(Films originally found on Diesel Railcar Simulator's Steam forums.)

These training videos are awful. Not one mention of how to be useful and what to do when another diesel engine shittalks your paint job.

> I was surprised to learn that diesel is not the driving power in these engines, as I thought diesel replaced steam. The Diesel engines drive electric generators which power electric motors.
May I also introduce you to the diesel-hydraulic locomotive?
