More proof that independent media (like Mefi) is way cooler than CNN and other "legitimate media." A full hour before CNN reported that the House of Representatives had voted Bush the power to declare War on Iraq, the quick-like-a-fox guys at Satanosphere had the story published. While this may not be the biggest story of the day, it's definitely a very important move for the Bush administration.

Millions of Americans say "Oh my Fuck" --Satanosphere

This is cool? This is news? This is accurate? "Independent Media" may be "way cooler", but gimme news, not opinion, and literate reporting, not obscenity.

I'm not sure I get your point. This story, whatever it's importance, is not investigative journalism at work. Moreover, approval by the house has been a fait accompli for several days now. So what's your point?

Um, the duplicate links were unnecessary.

A minor nit: The Constitution limits to Congress the power to declare war. This was a joint resolution authorizing use of force, under the War Powers Act; if also passed by the Senate, it is functionally equivalent to a Declaration of War.

Oh, good grief. car_bomb, self-linking requires self-flagellation. Now I see why you linked to that site three times. Well, you're helping whoever bought textads.

So far every time car_bomb has posted a link, it has been to his own site, the wonderful and incisive satanosphere.

First off, the Associated Press ran a story 20 minutes before it got posted on the Satan site, whatever the hell it is. Secondly, is it a surprise that the overwhelmingly Republican house voted to support it? I can't see CNN breaking in to real news to report that the sun rose or that a dog bit a man.

More proof that independent media (like your friend's friend's blog) is way less accurate, more biased, more annoying, and harder to read than CNN and other "legitimate media."

A full hour before CNN reported that the House of Representatives had voted Bush the power to declare War on Iraq, the uninspired guys at Satanosphere knocked out a quick high-school quality hack piece.

By the way, nice spam. Way to ruin whatever shreds of journalistic integrity your site might otherwise have had.

Yeesh.

It's not even news, for crying out loud. Did anyone think the H of R was going to stun the nation by turning the the President down?

I agree this isn't exactly a shocker, but how does a handful of seats make it "overwhelmingly republican"?

Just to make it clear, this was posted by one of our users, and not by any of the SoS staff. I am not very thrilled about this either.

I would like to apologize to the MeFi community on behalf of all of us. I will do my best to make sure this doesn't happen in the future.

It's about his pride, acceptance, self-worth and reputation being dependent upon our reaction to his FPP. Hey, pal, go get some sunshine and fresh air! :-)

Whoa, this fits the exact profile we developed over on the Tarot sniper thread.

There are no coincidences.

I suppose so, but wouldn't the best place for an apology be in the thread? I guess he's assuming that this will be deleted.

Am I supposed to go get some fresh air, or is he?
