If there are any other stories about anything related to the sniper anywhere in the national or local media, please post them each to the front page immediately! Thanks so much.

I thought they caught the sniper already. Or was that someone else jumping the gun and trying to be the first to post something to Metafilter?

There was a brief mention of it just now on the local NPR affiliate, something about a news helicopter view of the backyard of a former residence of the former soldier being marked off in a grid and gone over with metal detectors, a large object being dug up and put on a truck along with the stump which it was buried near or under.

Yeah, one of the talking heads said the stump was "in custody".
I nearly cracked a rib laughing.

I wonder if this judge moved up from teen court and had something to do with issuing a warrant today.

Has anyone noticed, that while all the media has been all over this - Fox seems to really, really, really want this to be international terrorism of the Al Qaeda sort? Anytime they talk to an "expert" it seems the anchors (like Shep "I run over reporters" Smith) say: "That's like the technique of international terrorists, isn't it?"

Come on danelope. Where else could you find news like this? Forget cnn, msnbc, foxnews, metafilter does it better and then some!
(though I must admit I admire owillis's ability to turn any thread into a pulpit for the advancement of his political agenda.)

Huh? All the networks have been bad. Court TV had a psychic for chrissake. But I'm stating fact w/r/t Fox's "please be a terrorist" slant.

Owillis (mercifully) has about the most fair, moderate "agenda" I've ever seen on Metafilter. What do you perceive as his "advancing" it?

WASHINGTON D.C. POLICE HAVE CONCLUSIVE EVIDENCE THAT THE SNIPER WEARS SHOES! Quick! Someone post it to MeFi!

C'mon, fox news sucks eggs so badly. It's impossible for any level headed human with half a brain to watch more than 5 minutes of that shit laden "channel" without ending up in the corner twitching like a victim of high grade Ebola.

the funniest thing on foxnews (besides geraldo's usual bizarre antics) was that one retired general they used to have on during the afghanistan campaign that always used to talk about "lettin' the dogs of war loose". It was like his catchphrase, he get all amped and smile when he was saying it.
