Been doing the double loop since my first pair of baseball cleats. The shoe salesman taught me, but there's a couple of ones I want to test out.
Foo failure forgiven forthwith.

I was very impressed at the advice; it still feels a little odd to do the first loop the 'wrong' way, but it works.

That's a favorite site of mine for the clear instructions, illustrations, and even knot troubleshooting information. I was chagrined to learn I'd been tying my shoes with an inherently insecure knot for forty-plus freaking years. He saved me from an incipient and premature slide into velcro shoes. Got to love the sincere enthusiasm of the author.
