UFO Video

UFO Sightings explained in a direct link to a short movie (wmv 885k). It could be that these toys are commonplace in the US, but they freak out every Brit who sees them.
Much fun to be had with the neighbours.
This post was deleted for the following reason: eh, not so much with the self-posting
Man so many toys today, like Christmas. That is very cool.
Um, self-link?

OK - if you look at the url you can find my blog as you can by looking at my name but I'm hardly trying to publicize myself. The video is without identification or comment or connection to anything else.

While that is so, it is a mefi policy and some people are motivated to self-link to drive up visitors to their site, while others just have something wonderful (or banal) they want to share. What i'd suggest in the future is email a friend on mefi your link and ask if they'd be interested in posting it. Self-linking is a simple conflict of interest issue. Please note that I'm giving you very gentle treatment here; there are much snarkier ways of pointing this out, but I sincerely believe you must have overlooked the rule rather than trying to subvert it.

This self-link is identified by the title at the top of the page corresponding with your mefi nick, and in the url.

well I'm glad I found your blog, sir. It is a good blog, especially the opening essay. I'd love to buy you a beer, and I'm glad you are with us today.

Moonbird - I owe an apology. I had wrongly assumed that when the link was clicked it would just automatically download the file (that's why I included the size) as if I had put the link into my browser. I had not expected it to jump to my blog as I now see it does. I should have done my homework better.

There arerules guide lines, while your link is amusing, it is not in keeping with the MeFi ethos.
"You read the guidelines, right? Because linking to your own site in this space will result in a deletion and your account will be banned. "
Buh-Bye

If you had done the link with this URL - http://files.blog-city.com/files/aa/47449/b/ufo.wmv (where you - I assume - uploaded the file to), instead of this one: http://cancergiggles.blog-city.com/read/975277.htm (where you blogged it), it may have worked like you wished it to...and it would still, if you are connected with it, be a self-link.
As a brit, I'm mildly amused by the video, as it happens.

its funny 'cus I would assume that it was common sense that self-linking could only be self promotion, even if done in good spirit... And the fact that I enjoyed the blog doesn't mitigate that. sorry.

Stevis - It's called an Area51 UFO and cost £20 (40USD). A Google search will bring up plenty.
I will shortly respond to those calling for me to be hung, drawn and quartered but I need a clear head.

In an effort to avoid clogging this space with further comment I though it was time that the Meta Stazi were outed somewhere else so Meta Penitentiary is born
