Sociologists Map High School Romance and connect half the romantic/sexual relationships together in a chain that's more like a rural phone network than an airline hub. (Nobody in this all-white Midwestern school appears to be involved in a same sex relationship, though, which is weird. 1995 stats.) Summary here.

Incidentally, someone was involved in a same sex relationship. I'm sure it says at the old link.

Check out that bad boy on the chart at 45% over and 20% down. Booya! Center of a big old hub!

All you have to do is look for the triangle. Second chain from the right. Two girls.

Also, there's a male-male relationship at the end of one of the rightmost branches off of the big loop. 573 sexually active students, 4 admitted to having a same-sex encounter. Seems awful low, even when we compensate for those uber-conservative mid-westerners </sarcasm>. I'd wager that not all of these students were truthful in their interviews.

From the story: unlike many adult networks, there was no core group of very sexually active people at the high school
What's the basis of that statement? What does an adult network look like? Any similar maps online for "adult networks"?

Someone else is going to find the IRC sex chart before I do.
