Fur is so last season

Yes, folks, it's time again for yet another PETA-related post.
When the fur is finally peeled off over the animals' heads, their naked, bloody bodies are thrown onto a pile of those who have gone before them. Some are still alive, breathing in ragged gasps and blinking slowly. Some of the animals' hearts are still beating five to 10 minutes after they are skinned. One investigator recorded a skinned raccoon dog on the heap of carcasses who had enough strength to lift his bloodied head and stare into the camera, with only his eyelashes still intact.
I abhor any sort of militant reaction to commercialism (like torching Hummers, for instance), and frankly speaking, I could personally do without all the celebrity posturing and anal-retentive policy pushing. However, PETA does put forward convincing arguments with their "no fur" campaign. More specifically, the ones titled "Fur Farm Horror" and "Canada's Killing Fields". NSFW (Streaming QT, Real, WMP. WARNING: videos are especially graphic and brutal, reminiscent of the "Faces of Death" series. Don't say I didn't warn you.)

This post was deleted for the following reason: I just posted last week on the same issue.
Tell me more about this "Peetah" you speak of... I am unfamiliar with their policies & stance...

Wait, why did you forget last week's link on the same subject?

Does PETA have any evidence that these sort of shock campaigns work? They make me feel like they must think I'm stupid. Couldn't they just write about it on paper, and let me decide whether or not I care? ::squeamish::

In reference to the "Canada's Killing Fields" link, the seal cull was 60 000 this year, not the 300 000 claimed. Besides, does anyone notice how these animals are clubbed to death, not skinned alive? It seems no less cruel than the bolt guns used to slaughter livestock.

You know - I usually come from the 'skip the link/thread if you don't like it' school of thought, but since you treated us to that revoltingly graphic paragraph right on the front page, I'm here to call bullshit.
Offensive and unnecessary. Who the hell doesn't know about PETA?
