Bob Moog passes away at 71.Robert Moog, inventor of the analog synthesyser and considered by many to be the father of electronic music, passed away August 21 from brain cancer. "Moog: A Documentary Film" is a great way to learn more about the man and the influence his creations have made and are making on modern music.

This post was deleted for the following reason: already there.

I just watched the documentary yesterday, and finding out about this not 12 hours later is so very spooky. He seemed very humble and down-to-earth in the film, never "tooting his own horn", just enjoying the fact that other people liked his creations.

Marge [after substitute teaching]: It took them 45 minutes to find Canada on the map.

Homer: Yeah, it's easy to miss--little thing tucked away down there.

I have never played an original Moog but Arturia's minimoog is my favorite sounding softsynth.

Bob Moog was a great inventor.

The university I went to had one of the original Moog synthesizers. I don't think we even so much as touched it (not sure if we were allowed to), though we did make use of the Arp.
