It's the year 3900, and you're out of toner. What are you going to do? Whatever you decide, just understand that it will be boring. (Note: Insubstantial, frivolous link.)

Finally got bored enough to do a search for "boring", did you?

Bingo. Jeez, what can I say? It's Tuesday after a long weekend. The rest of the week stretches before me like yards and yards of dirty gray laundry flapping listlessly on the line.

I've done that before, and indeed posted that link at my site as well.

However I'm refraining from being an elitist jerk (which really could never happen because I'm not on the so-called 'A-List') because it's a big ole internet out there and just because I knew about the site doesn't mean everyone does.

I think it's kinda funny that you and I found that site for exactly the same reasons. :-)

That's funny for too many reasons.

(Wow, Matt, the text box lights up! Like Lite-Brite!)

I'm surprised you missed the old chesnut Boring, Oregon, with the historical Boring House.

Joanne Worley once got bombarded with angry letters from rural Oregonians for teasing us about that town.

And yes, it's boring, but at least it's home to the Oregon Historic Cemeteries Association.

Actually, I went to school in Salem, Oregon, and was half-wondering if I was going to get a link related to the town (I didn't even do a search, just idly typed "boring" into IE--I could post a list of all the other stupid words I tried in the last hour, but I want to retain whatever shreds of goodwill I have on MeFi).

That town has my very favorite shop front ever: a nondescript building with a sign reading in large letters, "BORING DRUGS."

That Dean Boring, President, looks like a real firecracker. Imagine that, the words 'boring' and 'office supplies' in the same concept!

Wait, is the site for real? I thought it was a spoof?

This has been one of my favourite websites for a few months. Check out the people who work there!

Except for the name of the company, the Onion-y pictures of people who work there, and the fact that the date is listed as "November 28, 3900," it sure seems like a real site to me.

Ahhh! I did not know what the 3900 was all about, it shows up fine for me.

And by fine I mean November 28, 2000

It's a javascript date problem, and varies by OS/browser. I'm seeing 3900 in IE 5.5/win2k

I can't believe that Mr. Boring named his company, Boring Business Systems.

... and they probably appreciate at least some of the traffic. Even if Mr. dboring@boring.com has to clean out his inbox four to five times a day. :)

Perhaps these guys should reconsider.
