An Open Letter to the Michigan Secretary of State People Worse Than Us suggests an interesting solution to Michigan's suffering economy. Could license plates be the solution?

Thanks, Steven... my bad, I thought I'd gone to the actual post URL but obviously screwed up. Is there any way I can edit it?

This sounds like a perfectly reasonable suggestion.

Does that plate's color look more like a hot lavender than pink for anyone besides me?

I'm going to miss the blue ones.
But this is a great idea.

Yes but since Michigan voted against gay marriage in '04, this may be an apt argument. Given the huge anti-gay response by Michigan voters, a pink license plate may just work.

I would say Vote out Granholm. But i dont think i want the Amway scumbag either. The states fucked either way....
On Subject.
I'm sick of all the little extra charges this state thrusts upon us.
the color would also be a distraction to drivers and lead to more accidents. Which would lead to more tickets...
Nevermind.

DeVos = Amway. Very bad for Michigan.
Please, no vote for Amway.
Amway suck big. Much evil.

DeVos was president of Amway when Amway got hit with the largest penalty in the history of Canadian lawsuits.
But they're getting rid of the solid blue? Goddamnit, can't the legislature be trusted to not fuck up something?

Michigan's special plates will still be uglier than the pink one suggested.

Oh, gods, no! Please! I'm too cheap to pay for the (absolutely ugly) special plates they have, but I just can't bear the thought of having neon pink on my POS Saturn.
Worse yet...big green Hummers with neon pink plates...
The thought makes me nearly as nauseous as DeVos does.
