When macro photography becomes an addiction

This guy is picking up a strong following on flickr with his great collection of macro photographs of crazy stuff like a dew drop on a spider's leg
This post was deleted for the following reason: actually, he isn't.
Can you quantify "strong following"? The dew drop on a spider's leg photo has only been viewed 4 times.

As far as macro photos go I say it would be a gross exaggeration to describe these as great. Perhaps "not awful" would be more accurate.

Self link? I don't know, I thought I'd throw it out there.

Four very loving and appreciative times, I'm sure.

This is just ordinary, dime-a-dozen Flickr stuff. Not terrible, not exceptional or noteworthy, and I say that as someone who is about on this level ATM. Not worthy of a mefi post.

I should expand and say that a really cool mefi post could be made from trolling Flickr and other sites for interesting examples of macrophotography. This is not that post.

He specifically mentions it's not a macro shot but only cropped; you can see the original image right next to it.
Yes, that's a dewdrop on its leg.
NOWAI!

Just so that I get something out of this post...anyone know how I can get and attach a macro lens to my Panasonic DMC-FZ5?
Y'know, for the $1200CAD I paid for it when it was still brand spanking new (including warranty, bag, etc.), it really should have come with a standard lens attachment.

3 pictures in explore. That's not a following at all. I am extremely suspicious. Without puppies, kittens, photoshop, nudity or being female and not ugly there is no way this guy has a flickr following. He does have decent macros in favourites though.
jh is trying to pump up this person's flickr stats for some reason. (Here are mine!)
For those who care these are the macro's that have a following on flickr.

Kickstart - I would ask here.
From a brief search it looks like a Raynox DCR-250 might work?

This looks like nothing at all special, but photography is a visual art I've never really "got" - have I missed something here?

... apparently I take too long typing. All I missed was the attempt to boost Flickr rankings.
