I've never seen Harry the Hipster perform. I don't even know what to think even already.

And that Reg Kehoe piece just reminds me further how much the word has gone from cool to suck. I actually used some of those marimba queens in one of my own mash-up videos, just for the added dose of woweeeee.

Thanks again my good man. You are the one that I look forward to reading every time you post. The youtube links kind of get redundant I must say, but who else would link to such great stuff? And to all the naysayers, just remember, it's either this or IraqFilter. Be glad it's this.

Presumably y2karl.blogspot.com (which would totally go into my RSS feeds the instant I became aware of it) wouldn't require y2karl to pay moneys.
Regardless of whether y2karl's posts are appropriate for Das Blau, I'm glad he makes them. If they go somewhere else, as long as I can read it, I'm happy.

Delightful videos. Marvelous, generous post. I love the Mae West one. wow. Even though she looked so white, I always wondered if she were part black. The person posting the Cliff Edwards one at YouTube misspelled the song (although I rather like the misspelling, lol), it's I Feel Pessimistic, not Pestamistic. Oh wow, so Cliff Edwards' voice was that of Jiminy Cricket? neat.
Thanks y2karl.

This is interesting, not for the content, but rather to see how far Karl can push moderator patience before they ban him.
Go for it Karl, don't let the man keep you down. Post this stuff every day.
I don't even care if the links work, cause I can find music on my own.

Meta.
I was fooled! I thought that Y2K had trotted out his bizarre whine about Harrison Bergeron again, and then I'd be even more puzzled than I was the first time I read it.

Oh wow, so Cliff Edwards' voice was that of Jiminy Cricket ?
Prior to making this post, I knew that but not much else besides that, other than that he made a career of recording songs like I’m A Bear In A Ladies’ Boudoir before he got picked up by Disney to sing When You Wish Upon A Star.
He had a beautiful voice and an utterly tragic end. I was really saddened to read about it.
I have friends who collect old soundies and such and have seen any number of Cliff Edwards clips at their parties. I hav eliked just about everything I've seen of him.
This post began with me looking up Edwards and then running across those Harry 'The Hipster' Gibson clips. Had there been film for Who Put The Benzedrine In Mrs. Murphy's Ovaltine ? or Get Hip To Shirley MacLaine, though, this would have been an all Harry Gibson affair. Cliff Edwards would have been another post.
