US Army urges dead to re-enlist

The US Army is to apologise to the families of officers killed or wounded in action who were sent letters urging them to return to active duty.
This post was deleted for the following reason: I tried to fix it, but I think maybe we should just try again tomorrow.

Hmmm. Jerry's no longer with us (and already served) and Lesh, Weir Kruetzmann and the rest are kind of old and not the fighting type anyway.

They won't delete it. mathowie and jessamyn (the admins) usually just fix an html error like this rather than delete it.

The letters were sent to more than 5,100 Army officers listed as recently having left the military.
But this figure included about 75 officers killed in action and about 200 wounded in action.
Dang, they're really looking for cannon fodder. I know a retired career officer, over age 60, who has received several summons to re-enlist.
