Bush Is Not Above the Law

Bush Is Not Above the Law I know Metafilter folks dislike one-link posts. However, this guy's article in today's New York Times (Op Ed page) tells us a lot. Why? Because he is an authority (with two good books on the subject) on NSA, wiretapping, and what is done, might be done, should not be done in electronic eavesdropping.
This post was deleted for the following reason: SLOE. Consider reading "MetaFilter: The Lost Manual" to fine tune your hive-mind buzz detector.
I wish I could read it, but I've been on a one-man boycott with the times since they shut all those other columns behind the TimesSelect wall.

No, we don't. Please stop spreading that falsehood; you'll confuse the newbies. We dislike certain subsets of one-link posts, such as the single link to an op-ed piece, but no one says that all single link posts are bad.

The case against Bush has been laid out intelligently over and over again and nothing has come of it - nothing will come of this either.

Don't impeach unless you're including Cheney, though -- I definitely do not want him as POTUS.

Nixon wiretapped for personal gain.
Clinton lied for personal gain.
Bush wiretapped not for personal gain, but for the good of the country, at least in his mind. Sorry, this is different. Legally, he could be impeached, sure. However, politically it won't stick. Get over it. He's gone in two years anyway.

The thing is, Bush is above the law. He's told us so many times now.

I don't get it, he broke the law, a felony, he even admitted to it. This guy has lied and bent the truth so many times, yet not 1 senator or state is standing up and yelling IMPEACH.
Damn, all that oil money must be keeping him slippery.
