In ancient Greece they had festivals like, all the freaking time. As did the ancient Romans who basically would either conquer another culture and adopt their practices, or adopt another culture's practices until they could pretend they conquered that culture by saying they were just copying the Romans. Many of our holidays today can be traced back to the Greeks and Romans.
I've looked through ancient holiday descriptions, and I can't find a time when they celebrated laws or lawyers. There wasn't a "Lawyer Day" or a "Justice Day" or a "Yippie For Cops That Throw You In Jail For Jaywalking Day." This could be a sign of the End Times that we're witnessing folks. Gnarly.

I would like to talk to you for few moments about some of the practical aspects of being a governor who is still deeply concerned about the inadequacies of a system of which it is obvious that you're so patently proud.
...
I've seen the proud statement of a former attorney general, who protected his boss, and now brags on the fact that he tiptoed through a mine field and came out "clean." I can't imagine somebody like Thomas Jefferson tiptoeing through a mine field on the technicalities of the law, and then bragging about being clean afterwards.
It seems to me that every day is Law Day, and this day should be when lawyers, legislators, judges, executives, officers, etc. look in the mirror and do a gut check.

Hooray for those regrettable necessities that, through their being wielded by callous, obstructionist, sometimes actively hostile officials, make our lives hell! And that's only if they're not, by way of being made by people who care more about pleasing lobbyists in order to build funds for a reelection campaign than the good of the public, dangerously wrongheaded to begin with! Yippie!
