"I pitied the man and his tragically compartmentalized mind. After this day was over, I’d go back to thinking, but he would remain a retard." A trip to the Creation Museum has been done before. These people do it better.

Militant fundamentalists acting like jerks. End of story. Would it kill them to leave the mentally handicapped alone/
I personally am more interested in mefi's own John Scalzi (who autographed my copies of The Ghost Brigade and the Last Colony), whose readers have put up the cash for him to visit the Creation Museum and report on his findings - after he dared them to. They raised over 5 grand I think, with proceeds going to a non-profit dedicated to separation of church and state. I expect Scalzi's report will be humane, and, if nothing else, far better written.

I don't know...I work for a nonprofit group that does advocacy work for kids with disabilities, so I'm offended by this in a sort of "official sense," but all I can keep coming back to is that this was a pretty ballsy stunt. Good for them. Think I'm going to start reading the Buffalo Beast now.

I thought it was interesting how Ken Ham didn't even attempt to make any of his explanations at a level that the "mentally handicapped" reporter would have understood (had he actually been mentally handicapped, I mean).

I didn't say why I was going to hell.
Weak posts don't send you to hell, only purgatory, or if they're really weak, MetaTalk.

Yup, probably. And I'll be going in the next couple of weeks. Folks want to see a return on their investment.

I must be warped, cause I liked it... the sick and twisted messing with the sick and twisted. A bit of Gonzo-style reporting. Considering how scary these people can get, especially in the southern states, I say any disguise that works is warranted, even if it may seem in poor taste.
