saltwater as fuel?

saltwater as fuel? Wow. Lets hope this is actually (unlike the bio-fuels hustle) - net energy positive.

Oh god, not Kanzius again.

I don't see what is so eerie about Kanzius.

What's the matter with Kanzius?

"This is the most abundant element in the world. It is everywhere," Dr. Roy said of salt water. "Seeing it burn gives me chills."

Oooh, spectacular Doomsday device idea in three, two, one....

Spoiler: 2nd law of thermodynamics remains intact!

"Toto, I don't think we're in Kanzius anymore."

If this turns out to be remotely true, then holy shit

Oh, and saltwater isn't an element. For that matter neither is water, or salt. WTF?

Total bullshit. They're cracking the hydrogen with radio waves and then burning the hydrogen. It's a net loss of power, guaranteed.

If salt water had any useful chemical energy, then there would be organisms that lived on it, transforming it into something else.

Not table of elements element. Part of something element.

What's the matter with Kanzius?

He doesn't look like Elizabeth Shue.

Well, since we're almost done cutting-down the rain forests, I guess it's high-time we turned to an effective way of draining the oceans.

Kind of sloppy for a chemist.

So it sounds like while he was trying to cure cancer he thought he had a way to provide the world with drinking water, only to discover that in fact he had solved the energy crisis.

I hope he is right at least one out of the three times.

Reading between the lines on Dr Roys wikipedia page I'd say they guy has a predisposition towards credulousness towards kooky ideas.
