Bush: Iranian Bomb Means World War III

Dishonorable Leader thinks the 'mushroom cloud' gimmick worked so now he's trying it again. Remember Condi's warning that the "smoking gun" of Iraqi WMD would turn into a "mushroom cloud." Since that one worked so well, now Bush's trying to sell us that an Iranian bomb will lead to WWIII. Of course, he's forgetting that the ignition source for that conflict is likely much closer to home--in fact in our own White House.
Much as I detest Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, at least I believe he has some sense of realpolitik & just how far he can go before having Iran's enemies take him down a peg or two. Bush has no such fears or compunctions. His wish is the world's command in his eyes.
This NY Times article also notes that no less distinguished a U.S. general than John Abizaid says the U.S. can live with a nuclear Iran. Apparently, not only can't Bush live with a nuclear Iran, he's willing to take us down with him on that long ride like the one Slim Pickens made on the A-bomb in Dr. Strangelove.

This post was deleted for the following reason: A thin newsfilter link as the premise for a three paragraph statement of personal opinion is pretty much exactly the wrong way to make a post to Metafilter. -- cortex
