Detective Roger "Apeshit" McAdams is one of the 34 loose cannons, screwballs, head cases, and real grade-A hard-asses recently suspended from active duty at Los Angeles' 77th Precinct.
This post was deleted for the following reason: There's a fair volume of previous discussion of the practice of posting links to The Onion, with which you may or may not be familiar but which leans pretty solidly toward the Don't camp. On the other hand, there's a post discussing The Onion just down the page a little. -- cortex
"Although the precinct has boasted a 100 percent arrest rate since 1988, fewer than 2 percent of the indicted offenders have gone to trial, since the vast majority of drug dealers, child molesters, and serial killers investigated by the 77th Precinct have died or disappeared before their court dates."
Let god sort them out!

I love loose cannons. If reenforcing a culture of torture through the display of brutal cop-loving entertainment is wrong, I don't want to be right.

"The officers' darkest moment reportedly came in November 1992, when they shot and killed three dozen children who darted out of a dark alley holding toy guns."
Which means somewhere in that police force are two cops who shot two kids each.

Man, I just do not get the appeal of and critical acclaim accorded to The Shield. The whole thing pretty much disgusts me because, whether it means to or not, it ends up glorifying a fucking psychopath, if only because he's a cop. What made me like it even less, is when I heard Michael Chiklis interviewed on Fresh Air, he did practically the whole interview in (Vic Mackey) character. Fucking pretend tough guy: pathetic.

The Shield may be reprehensible (dunno, never seen it), but I think "pretend" kinda loses its effect as an insult when used against an actor.

Hey Matt & Co -- maybe you can create http://theonion.metafilter.com for people to post Onion links!

The only thing more lame than a link to a recent Neatorama article is a link to an Onion article. Congratulations!

This used to be such a cool place.
